Cold Editor for iPad, iPhone and Mac · last updated 27 October 2026

Cold Editor collects nothing about you. It has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it contains no third-party tracking code. Your projects, media and settings stay on your device.

Who this is from

Cold Editor is made by Cold Editor Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17503662), registered office 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA, United Kingdom. Cold Editor Ltd is responsible for this policy. For anything about privacy, write to info@coldeditor.com.

What stays on your device

Everything you make: projects, the photos and videos you bring in, titles, captions, transcripts, saved titles and templates, exports, your preferences, and the app's own diagnostic log. The app reads and writes them on your device, and in your own iCloud, Files or external drive if you keep them there. None of it is sent to us.

Permissions, and what each is for

You can change any of these at any time in Settings, and the rest of the app carries on working without them.

The Smart tools

Remove Silences, Detect Cuts, Slow Motion and Transcribe hear and see your footage to do their work. That all happens on your device, with Apple's on-device speech recognition and Vision. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else, and what was heard and seen is kept with your project so it isn't worked out twice.

The internet

Cold Editor doesn't use the internet. It makes no connections of its own: nothing you make, and nothing you do in it, is sent anywhere.

Diagnostics and bug reports

The app keeps a log of what it did (projects opened, edits made, errors) and any crash reports the system gives it. These stay on your device and are never sent automatically.

If something goes wrong, you can save a bug report. It holds that log, a screenshot taken at the moment you asked for it, and, if you leave the switch on, your project file. Nothing leaves your device unless you choose to send it, by email or AirDrop, and you can look at every file in the report first.

Buying and subscriptions

Your purchase is handled by Apple. We never see your name, card or payment details. Apple gives us sales reports that don't identify you. Ask for a refund in your Apple account settings.

Children

Cold Editor is an editing tool for everyone and collects no personal data from anyone, of any age.

This website

coldeditor.com sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from other companies: even its typefaces and videos are served from the site itself. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which handles the request and keeps the connection secure, and which therefore processes your internet address for as long as that takes. Nothing about your visit reaches us.

When you write to us

If you email us, we use your email address and what you send only to answer you, and we keep it no longer than we need to. We never add you to a mailing list or pass it on.

Your rights

Because the app holds no data about you on our side, there's nothing in it for us to show you, correct or delete. If you believe we hold something, want an email you sent deleted, or have any question about this policy, write to info@coldeditor.com and we'll answer. Under UK and EU data protection law you may also complain to your data protection authority; in the UK that's the Information Commissioner's Office.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date at the top. If a change ever meant the app collected something, it would be described here before it happened.

In short: your edits are yours and they stay on your device. The only thing that ever leaves it is a bug report you choose to send.
